Summary:
This book started out as an ordinary project day in the classroom on animals that swim in the ocean. The next day the Ms. Frizzle took the students to the beach, and instead of stopping to let the students out, she drove the bus right into the ocean. Once the bus made it under water, Ms. Frizzle started teaching and showing them the different parts of the ocean floor and the animals in the ocean. They saw all different kinds of fish, sharks, seaweed, and plankton. They even went to the deepest, blackest part of the ocean. On the way out of the ocean, the bus turned into a surf board they road the waves. They ended with a class picture and created a bulletin board of their ocean adventure.

Teacher Evaluation:
This book was a very good book about the ocean floor. I would use this book to teach my students about the ocean and a lot of its parts, as well as why we need to help keep it clean.

Title: The Other Side Author: Jacqueline Woodson  Genre: Historical Fiction Awards: N/A Age Group: 8-10 Summary: This book is about two little girls who we separated by a fence, that wasn't safe for them to climb over because the fence separated the whites and blacks. The little white girl would sit on the fence and watch the little black girl play, and one day she saw the black girls playing and asked if she could join, and one of the girls said no. They saw each other in town, and the black girl watched the white girl play in the rain. Once the rain stopped, the little girls introduced themselves and both sat on the fence together. They were very close in age and grew up in the shadows of each other. Whatever Venus did, Serena did too. They started playing tennis, but would clean the courts at the crack of dawn. Their older three sisters played but lost interest. Their father was laughed at for his hopes and dreams for his daughters but that didn't stop him.
