Summary:
This book was about a safety officer at a local school. No one would listen to his safety tips, until he got a partner, which was a police officer dog named Gloria. Gloria would act out the safety tips behind officer Buckle's back. He didn't realize Gloria was doing these acts until his safety tips were filmed. Officer buckle was very, because he felt like no one was there to see or listen to him , which made Gloria sad. It also lead to the biggest safety accident ever. After that, officer Buckles realized the best safety tip yet, which was to always stick with your buddy. 

Teacher Evaluation:
This book was a very cute book to me, and I really enjoyed it. I would use this book to help teach our safety rules and why they are very important to us. I would also use this book to instill the concept of having a buddy always makes things better.

Title: The Other Side Author: Jacqueline Woodson  Genre: Historical Fiction Awards: N/A Age Group: 8-10 Summary: This book is about two little girls who we separated by a fence, that wasn't safe for them to climb over because the fence separated the whites and blacks. The little white girl would sit on the fence and watch the little black girl play, and one day she saw the black girls playing and asked if she could join, and one of the girls said no. They saw each other in town, and the black girl watched the white girl play in the rain. Once the rain stopped, the little girls introduced themselves and both sat on the fence together. They were very close in age and grew up in the shadows of each other. Whatever Venus did, Serena did too. They started playing tennis, but would clean the courts at the crack of dawn. Their older three sisters played but lost interest. Their father was laughed at for his hopes and dreams for his daughters but that didn't stop him.
